NOTICE OF YOUR FINANCIAL PRIVACY RIGHTS
This privacy disclosure is being issued to comply with the provisions of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act governing the privacy of consumer financial information. This disclosure is effective as of January 1, 2006.
 
Appalachian Community Federal Credit Union (ACFCU), your member owned financial institution, is committed to providing you with financial products and services that meet your needs and assist you in reaching your financial goals. We are equally committed to protecting your privacy. You can be confident that our member's financial privacy is a priority of this credit union.
 
INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND DISCLOSE ABOUT YOU
We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources.
*Information we receive from you on applications and other forms (such as name, address, assets, income and employer) to establish membership or obtain loans, credit cards or other financial products or services;
*Information about your transactions (such as account balance, payment history, parties to transactions and credit card usage); and
*Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency (such as your credit worthiness and credit history).
 
Occasionally we share information with affiliated companies that are hired to perform marketing or other services on our behalf. If we share your information, it is with the goal of bringing you quality services, more choices and greater convenience. To protect our member's privacy, we choose only companies who meet our security and privacy requirements. We work only with companies if it is legally permissible and they agree to maintain strong confidentiality protections. We limit the use of information we provide and do not permit these companies to sell any member information to other third parties. We may disclose all the information we collect, as described above, to these companies that perform marketing or other services on our behalf. ACFCU does not and will not sell or provide personal information to third parties for independent use.
 
In order to conduct the business of the credit union, we may also disclose nonpublic personal information about you under other circumstances as permitted or required by law (for example, in response to a lawful request issued by a court, government agency, or regulatory authority). These disclosures typically include information to process transactions on your behalf, conduct the operations of your credit union, follow your instructions as you authorize, or protect the security of your financial records.
 
If you terminate your membership with ACFCU, we will not share information we have collected about you, except as permitted or required by law.
 
HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION:
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who have a specific business purpose in utilizing your data. Our employees are trained in the importance of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to safeguard your nonpublic personal information.
